Brian Cann

General Manager

Brian Cann has worked in Health and Fitness since 2010. He started as a lifeguard and worked his way up. He was Aquatics Director for the Rouse Center from December 2015 to December 2018. After a short hiatus, he returned to take on the same role and was later promoted to General Manager in December 2019. He has numerous certifications through the Pool and Hot Tub Alliance and American Red Cross. He enjoys teaching and has worked as an Adjunct Instructor at a local college. Brian graduated from the University of Virginia in 2012 with his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.

In his free time, he enjoys visiting new cities and trying new foods.

Seth Perdue

Assistant General Manager

Seth Perdue comes to the Jeff Rouse Swim and Sport Center with over 10 years of youth programming experience, most recently with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington and the Alice C. Tyler Village of ChildHelp East. He has experience facilitating teambuilding and group activities, teaching social and therapeutic recreational sessions, and sports coaching and athletic training.

In his free time, Seth enjoys playing sports, outdoor activities and spending time with his wife and three children.

Kathy Donald

Fitness Director

Kathy Donald comes to the Jeff Rouse Sport & Swim Center with over 15 years of fitness and management experience. Along with her infectious, charismatic personality, she has a passion for fitness and helping others from all walks of life. Kathy has a Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology, is a certified Nutrition/Health Coach, Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor. Her mission is to nurture a fitness program where fitness goals are reached in a supportive, fun environment. 

When not sharing encouragement and motivation at the center, Kathy enjoys spending time with her husband, daughters, and volunteering in the community.

Jesse Waldvogel-Harris

Group Exercise Coordinator

Jesse has worked in the health and fitness industry since 2004 beginning as a personal trainer and a group fitness instructor. She holds two Master’s Degree in Sports and Health Sciences, as well as Public Health Administration, and a Bachelor’s in Sports Management. Jesse is an AMPD Strong Master Trainer, she holds certifications through a wide variety of disciplines, conducts trainings worldwide, and teaches a variety of group fitness formats.

Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Jesse now resides in Stafford with her husband and 4 children. In her spare time, she enjoys boating with her family, spending time outdoors, and juggling life with three wild boys and a baby girl.

Carrie Murray

Water Exercise Coordinator

Carrie Murray joins the Rouse Center management team having been employed in the fitness industry since she graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University where she earned her B.A. in Sport Science and Health Science. Over the years she has worked as a swim coach, college wellness instructor, group exercise instructor, and personal trainer. Carrie has been teaching group exercise classes at the Rouse Center since it opened and more recently joined their personal training team. She is passionate about helping people make improvements in their overall health and wellness.

Originally from Chicago, Carrie enjoys swimming, running, and hiking with her family and their dog. She loves cooking for a crowd, would like to get really good at knitting, and believes watching the sun set over the water refreshes the soul.

Scott Brown

District Food & Beverage Director

Scott is a Stafford Native with over 20 years in the F&B Industry. He is a graduate of Johnson and Wales University of Charleston where he studied culinary and F&B management. He has worked and studied in all types of food concepts. The restaurant industry has led him to many different states including FL, SC, Missouri, Indiana and Maryland and oversees to Germany where he studied German and Infusion Cuisine.

With his brother he owned a restaurant concept in St. Louis called Tanner B’s where they won awards for Best Concept, Best Appetizers, Best American Theme and Best Happy Hour. Scott has competed in many food competitions winning chili cookoffs and placing second and third in professional competitions. Scott has been married to Ami for 17 years and together they have three children: Jonah, Jadyn and Jami. In his spare time he loves to fish, garden and coach soccer. He loves the outdoors and would always rather be camping.

Kim LaFontaine

Membership Director

Kim comes to the Rouse Center with a varied work background, including more than 13 years experience as a Creative Arts Director and Volunteer Coordinator for a large church in South Carolina. Kim studied Marketing at Liberty University and has worked in some customer driven capacity for the past 22 years. She is passionate about making meaningful connections and spreading positivity.

Originally from North Carolina, Kim is a ridiculous Tarheel basketball fan. She loves cooking, reading and spending time with her husband, Bill, and their combined 5 kids.

Angela Conway

Membership Services Coordinator

Angela Conway comes to the Rouse Center with years of varied work experience due to her most important role as a military spouse. In Japan she worked as an English Teacher. In Kansas, she worked in the Human Resource (HR) department of St. Mary’s Hospital. In Montana, she was the HR Director of a Long Term Care Facility. In Germany she worked as a Career Counselor, pianist and Piano Teacher. She received her Master’s Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Kansas State University. In each location she has been passionate about actively living life and healthy eating.

Angela is originally from Iowa, where for years she would slalom ski on the Mississippi River and now enjoys boating on the Potomac, gardening, hiking and attending a variety of fitness classes. She, her husband, Jerry, and their two children currently reside in Stafford, VA.

Aideen Brannan

Assistant Aquatics Director

Aideen joined the Rouse Center as a lifeguard in October 2018 and transitioned to the Rouse staff full-time as Assistant Aquatics Director in May 2019. She received her Bachelor of Science in Communications from St. John’s University and served as a Marine for 22 years both active and reserve. In her role as a Marine Combat Instructor (later Instructor-Trainer) of Water Survival, Aideen’s primary focus was on training personnel in water survival and swim qualification. She frequently traveled the country as part of a Mobile Training Team to support reserve annual training requirements. Aideen is a Red Cross certified Lifeguard Instructor, Water Safety Instructor, and an NSPF certified Pool Operator.

Aideen hails from Long Island and tries to return yearly for her beach and bagel fix. She is the proud mom of two children; her older child Rebecca serves as a Navy corpsman alongside her husband Dan, and son Nicholas is a rising sophomore at Brooke Point. Aideen loves to cook, read, and garden, and resides in Stafford with her son, husband, and a persnickety feline named Puar.

Connor Costello

Lifeguard & Pool Manager

Connor Costello comes to the Jeff Rouse Swim and Spot Center with 5 years of Aquatics experience. He joined the Rouse staff as a lifeguard in 2017. Soon after he took on the role of Head lifeguard gaining experience as a pool operator. He is an American Red Cross certified lifeguard, Certified pool operator and an American Heart Association BLS provider. Connor has always loved the water and helping people however he can, making Aquatics a perfect fit for him.

In his free time Connor enjoys fishing, volunteering as a firefighter and spending time with his family and two dogs, Cali and Cooper.
