There are two swim tests available to kids; a shallow water swim test for the Recreation Pool (for use without an adult) and a deep water swim test for the Competition Pool (for use with or without an adult).
Children between the ages of 11-13 MUST take and pass a swim test in order to be in the pool area without an adult.
Children 13 and under MUST take a swim test to use Competition pool, even with adult supervision. Competition Pool is for lap swimming only.
An adult (18+) must be in the pool area during the swim test.
If child fails the swim test, an adult (18+) must be in the pool area for the child to use the pool.
They may retake the test ONCE every week if they do not pass.
Upon passing the swim test, the child will be given a band to be worn at all times (Green = Competition Pool and Recreation Pool, Yellow = Recreation Pool) when in the pool area.
Swimmers are responsible for bringing the band to the pool when swimming. If the band is lost, swim test may be administered again or one will be provided for day use.
Weak or poor swimmers and children in life jackets must have an adult (18+) in the water within arm’s reach.
Shallow Water Swim Test: Tested in Recreation Pool
Deep Water Swim Test: Tested in Competition Pool
***If the band is given to another child, who has not taken the test, the child who passed the test will lose the ability to use the pool without an adult until 13.***
